December 26-31, 2018 - Big Sky

We're buckled-up and ready for our trip!

After a flight, a comprehensive grocery run, and an hour-long drive, we're finally here!

Ella's already made herself at home.

Day 1 of skiiing starts with us getting a feel for the snow again.
We take one run off the magic carpets, which is covered with a snazzy blue shell!

A toasting to a great first morning of skiiing!

The girls get silly.

Getting ready for dinner.

Ella falls asleep at the dinner table between apps and main.

Getting ready to head back out into the cold.

We take the heated-bubble Ramcharger lift to and from dinner at Everett's 8800 on the top of Andesite Mountain.

We take a bit of a wrong turn and have to head back up the beginners' lift.

Every afternoon starts with hot tubbing (or swimming in the heated pool), which is super-foggy with the extreme temperature difference.

The air is frequently in the teens by this time, but the water is warm.

Ah - pictures of skiiing. How novel...

Getting ready to drop over the edge.

We eat very well here...

Outside Everett's after lunch.

This isn't a great picture, but there was a rainbow if you look in the direction of the sun.
(Most rainbows can only be seen by looking away from the sun, so this is unusual.)

The girls get way ahead of me.

NYE fireworks.

Ella tries our amaro flight.
She likes the really spicy one!

The dead soldiers of ski week.

Ella gets back to what she loves after a big week of working out.
