Its Ella's annual half-day Thursday and Friday off, making a early and long, autumn weekend.
We drive up to Big Canoe, and since we get there in daylight, Ella steers the last several turns.

We start Friday morning at the petting zoo at BJ Reese Orchard.

THis little fella, however, doesn't. I'm one of the few that picks up the piglets, which they vehemently do not like.

Then it is time to pick some apples.

Ya gotta enjoy some of the fruit, just to make sure they're good.

Then it is off to Burt's Pumpkin Patch.

A lazy walk to the falls, then we head back for the requisite dinner before we can enjoy the apple pie.
