Jan 18, 2014 - Valparaiso, Chile

We disembark the ship and start our walking tour of Valparaiso, where we walked past this, which I assume is a tomb of the unknown soldier.

Valpo is a hilly city, littered with funiculars like this one.

Up the mountain, we get a great view of this colorful city.

The boat does not have the prettiest parking spot.

There are some great examples of architecture here.

Several buildings and staircases have been painted by local artists.

My girls enjoy the workout we get going up and down scenic stairs all over the back streets of this town.

Very colorful - and a little stinky. As a college town, the streets aren't very clean - and there are countless stray dogs that do their business without anyone responsible to clean up.

I love all the murals - and basically no outdoor advertising.

A cemetary stands guard over the lower town, as villas and houses line the mountains.

We enjoy the sunshine and warm weather, such a change from the last several days.

We like this town, but on to Viña del Mar.
