May 25, 2011 - Cancun - Day 1

After a short flight, we take a van towards the resort.
This sign looked rather ominous, but proved not to be, since we had such a fantastic time.

We're finally at Hacienda Tres Rios.

It is beautiful here.

The trees were really that green - and the sky and sea were really that blue!

The place has some quirks - like the vibraphone players in the moat the first night.

OK, I can stay here for 5 days!

THAT was unexpected.

The people at the cool cocktail bar are intrigued.

A look at Kevin and Brooke's honeymoon penthouse suite.
You can imagine the hot tub up top (and the intentions in the lounge chair).

An unexpected (and unrepeated) chocolate fondue feast.

Pre-drinks at K&B's pad, overlooking the mangroves, some of which are in better shape than others.

The place may look even cooler at night (certainly fuzzier - both in pictures and alcohol-infused reality).

Rich and Katherine are so photogenic (yet still look better in person).

The Wednesday-night lobstah-eatin' crew.
OK. Rest up. Tomorrow is going to be a big day!

Tomorrow: Tulum, snorkeling, and maybe a cenote.
