April 25, 2005 - Mediterranean Trip - Day 12

(Savona to Rome via Pisa)

After a relaxing day at sea (with few worthwhile pictures), we wake up back in Savona, Italy.

Clouds hang over the mountains.

We take cabs to the train station in Savona.

Cool! "Eastern toilets!" Carey and Bill got to use them for the first time.
These are the kind they have all over China. We didn't really expect them in Italy.

Passing the time on the train playing Continental Rummy.

Halfway to Rome, we stop in Pisa.
We walk along, then cross the Arno from the train station to the Tower.

No idea what that little building is.

Crossing the Arno.

Lunch. Pizza in Pisa.
Wine, too, of course!

The Tower.

Bill wonders why everyone thinks that darn tower is leaning!!

Statue of Romulus and Remus.

Tomorrow... all roads lead to Rome
