March 5, 2005 - Random Tailgate 2 - Equine Style

A beautiful Athens day for G.U.F.A.W.'s second annual Randon Tailgate. The Georgia Unified Fellowship of Alumni and Wannabes chose an Equestrian meet (or "equitation") as its setting for Random Tailgate 2005, after the rousing success of the
Gymnastics meet of 2004.

Rich lines up for a toss.

Kevin, the horseshoe king, shows Rich how its done.
(Actually, I think this was his only loss of the day. He rattled off about 10 straight wins later.)

Rich and Joe check out their grouping.
(This WAS a real round, believe it or not...)

A sampling of the Georgia- and horse-themed selection.

My view from under our tailgating tents... Kevin giving Joe a lesson with the rolling "hills of Georgia's northland" behind them.

Mid-air.

What a view.

Anyone seen "the Ring?"
We got sprinkled upon and my lens got wet. This was supposed to be Jill and Abigail.

Georgia's English team beat Kansas State in both events. (So did the Western team.)

One of the athletes, done for the day...
